Multi County New Land Owners

Education Program

In 2006, Extension agents in Austin, Colorado, Fayette and Washington Counties developed a series of educational programs for new landowners to provide them information on a variety of topics.  We invite you to participate in this award winning program specifically designed to help you establish your agriculture business.

County Agents, Extension Specialists and other experts in the field of agriculture will be giving educational seminars on Beef Cattle Production, Horse Production, Brush Management, Plant Identification, Pond Management and much more.

In addition, you will be meeting new landowners from the four county area and have the chance to compare ideas, ask questions and get to know your neighbors.  On behalf of the agricultural community, welcome to our area!

Recipients of the 2007 Team Superior Service Award for New Landowners Education Program

Larry Pierce CEA-Washington County, Dale Rankin CEA-Colorado County,

Phillip Shackleford CEA-Austin County, Larry Nickels (ret) CEA-Fayette County  and Dr. Ed Smith, Director of Texas AgriLife Extension Service
